Mercury is in retrograde, so yada yada yada, I walked in to my screening of The Bleeder late. The night before, for the red carpet for The Bleeder, Lainey and I had to rush there due to some technical woes. It all worked out, and we got some great interviews with Naomi Watts Full Story

You expect a movie to be weird, and then you watch it and it’s WEIRD. So it goes with Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise, an adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s classic sci-fi novel. Steeped in a 1970s aesthetic consistent with the publication of Ballard’s book, High-Rise is stylish and highly visual, packed with stunning images that range from the beautiful to the absurd to the grotesque. Full Story

Looking up pictures of Elisabeth Moss’s magenta dress, one outlet described her look as Barbie-esque. Um, Elisabeth Moss doesn’t look anything like a Barbie, and I certainly don’t think she’s trying to. Yes , her dress is bright pink, her hair is blonde and she has blue eyes. Full Story

Truth is Spotlight’s more depressing cousin, another investigative procedural but this time, the outcome is less celebratory. Based on her own book, Truth tells the account of Mary Mapes, the 60 Minutes producer who oversaw the story on then-President Bush’s service in the Texas Air National Guard. Full Story

The final episodes of Mad Men will begin airing on April 5 on AMC. Are you ready? They’re calling it The End Of An Era and it really does feel like it. Don Draper made Walter White possible. Mad Men brought down hemlines. Mad Men’s influence on television, its contribution to the “golden age of television” cannot be overstated. Full Story

Elisabeth Moss has been making some solid career choices outside of Mad Men in advance of the series finale. Her performance in Jane Campion’s Top Of The Lake was widely acclaimed. Her new film The One I Love, in theatres this month, is receiving decent reviews. And now it’s being reported that she’s being considered for season 2 of True Detective, alongside Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn. Full Story

Mad Men Season 7 Episode 3 recap. “Okay.” This is why I love screenwriting so much. There are so many things that lesser writers would have put into Don Draper’s mouth. So many words. In fact, even just the volume of words that could have been put there would have been wrong. Full Story

I don’t know why I think she’s an understatement, exactly. After all, she’s invited to all of these awards, is usually nominated and half the time she wins. She knows how to do these shows. And it’s not like she’s playing shrinking violet, either. This geometric metallic red J. Full Story

WOW, this girl.  I’ve been on kind of a renewed crush cycle with her since that video from last spring where she and the other maybe-nominees (sorry, Monica Potter) discussed their lives as actresses, and she had fun and was lively and excited. When I saw her tonight I thought ‘Yeah you are!”  This is what someone who’s nominated for two totally different projects shows up looking like. Full Story
