Armando Ianucci (Veep, In The Loop) is one of the best satirists working today—certainly the best working in narrative forms. His latest piece of satire is The Death of Stalin, a Cold War era comedy about, you guessed it, the death of Joseph Stalin. Or rather, it’s about the bureaucratic scramble that follows the death of Joseph Stalin, as his deputies and the members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party scramble for power. Full Story

The Accountant is dumb. It is so, so dumb, and I won’t try to defend it as anything other than a hella dumb movie. But it’s that special kind of stupid—a movie so ludicrously, delightfully dumb that it comes out the other side fun. Everything about The Accountant is the stupidest sh*t you’ve ever heard, and yet it’s an entertaining action movie. Full Story

What did you think of Kimmel giving the statuette to Jeffrey Tambor right off the top? Was it funny, or did it rob the eventual win of its…you know, moment-ness? To me, it implied the win was a given, and I think that was more true inside the room than on TV, you know? That is, I know some of the nominees were kind of niche, but I felt like there was room for Anthony Anderson or mayyyyyybe Aziz Ansari to sneak in there. Full Story
