Hi Duana! We're expecting our second in May and we won't be finding out the gender. Though somehow we're in the same boat as when we were expecting our first- a full list of potential girls names and zero for boys. Last time we went with the one and only name we could remotely agree on-Ewan, middle name is my Dad's. Full Article

Hello Duana, My daughter was born last year and we were one of those couples that didn't want know the gender. We had the boy's name set but we waffled on girls names. Adelaine? Sorcha (he vetoed)? Aurelia? Ariel? We finally settled on one...Claudia. But my ESL in-laws couldn't pronounce it. Full Article

Hi Duana, My husband and I are expecting our first child in May, and I am convinced that we will never agree on a name. We are planning to be surprised by the gender, so we actually need to have both a boy’s name and a girl’s name ready to go. (Unfortunately the hospital already told us that if we don’t have a name picked out by the time we leave the hospital we will have to go to family court to name the baby. Full Article

DUANA we need help. My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years and currently have zero kids. My 30th birthday is in August 2017 (he will be 29) and we are looking towards that as a soft opening date for the baby-making-factory (TMI?). At this point, we are planning on only having one child. Full Article

So we have just found out we are having twin boys but we are having trouble coming up with name options! I have rules already from our first son: our surname is Brown so no one syllable names and no names starting with B, but now I need to find 2 names that fit well together as well as with their older brother! We have Travis already, which may seem like an unusual choice to you as I know it's common in North America but in Australia (where we live) and New Zealand (where I'm from) it's hardly used - I've literally never met another Travis. Full Article

Hi Duana, We just found out that we are having a second boy and we have no idea what to name him! Our first son's name is Ariel Nikolas P----r. We pronounce Ariel the way Sebastian from the Little Mermaid does and we call him Ari for short. I'm Greek and my husband is Jewish. We chose a Hebrew name for the first name and Nikolas is my dad's name, therefore Greek. Full Article

I am a longtime fan of your name column. I actually have a naming question about my two year old daughter's name, or, rather, her nickname. Should we at some point transition her to her real name? If so, when? As background: we have three wonderful daughters, Charlotte, Elizabeth and Eleanor. Full Article

Hi Duana, I'm excited to be writing to you! My husband and I are expecting our first, a girl due in early April. We've had boys names picked out for a while. His top pick was Lincoln, to be called Link and mine was Archer. We also agreed on a backup name of Flynn and resolved to meet the baby to see which of these three (all of which we like and agree on) would suit the baby. Full Article

Hi Duana, We're English and I am currently pregnant with my second daughter and we can't find anything we LOVE. My first daughter is Lara (middle name Emilia) and we adore it. I still get a little thrill every time I tell people her name. It's simple but it fits her perfectly - she's a real firecracker. Full Article

Well, here’s the thing about updates—sometimes I don’t have any for a while, and then I have some all at once… and I always value that some come in days after the baby’s born, and others are rounding the corner on becoming toddlers. That’s great, because I get to revisit old letters and wonder if I’d still say the same thing. Full Article

Hi Duana, On the Netflix show The 100, the main character's name is Clark and she is a woman. I love that name for a girl. Is 'Clark' becoming a trend for girls? Has this come up on the 'Duana Names'? Also, what about the name Lewis for a girl? I know, I know, Lewis & Clark…but they both have amazing potential for girl names. Full Article
